Three questions from a newbie

Post by jhobbs »

1. It seems the Preview Pand & associated software doesn't display videos- at least, not .mp4 format.
Can I fix this?

2. Right-click on filenames takes about 5 seconds longer than it should, to respond. Right-click on XY items responds normally.
Anything I can do about this, except maybe get a faster computer?

3. Can I have subsets or embeddd tabs, to make it easier to find
Portraits,
Royalty
Egyptian???

Item 2 (5 second delay) seems to have disappeared by itself.
Item 3 is no longer an issue.

I'm using Windows 10 64-bit. A forum post implied that 64-bit Windows doesn't offer whatever support is needed by 32-bit programs for viewing videos. Windows seems to imply that WOW64 should force Windows to support videos.
Any help would be appreciated.

Installing a codec pack (e.g. K-Lite Codec Pack -> http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm)
should help. The Basic package should be sufficient, it contains all necessary 32-bit codecs as well.

Last time I installed KLite, it wanted to install some bloatware. Look out for that.

The K-Lite codec pack resolved the video problem. All fixed now.

I'm sure I'll be buying Xyplorer, partly due to this excellent forum.
