A simple file copy

As xyplorer has so many ways to do everything can someone please advise me on this:

What is the most efficient way to simply make a copy of a given file to the same folder?

I would guess that if the file is already selected, then Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V.
Or if you happen to have one hand on your mouse and the other near your keyboard, then Ctrl+Click-n-drag.
Unless I read the question wrong... (Note that these commands are Windows commands, and not specific to xy.)

I do this all day long. One of my top 5 uses of XYplorer.

Usually I do a dated copy using Ctrl+Shift+D.
Sometimes I do a numbered copy using Ctrl+D.
Sometimes I do a custom-named copy using Ctrl+S.

I like to right click the file you'd like to copy, hold and drag on to white space, release, and then use the "Copy here as option..." or you can simply use the "Copy here" option.

Not having a "trained monkey" available will experiment to see which works best here.

I'm very accustomed to Ctrl-C & Ctrl-V (muscle memory), but Ctrl-D is the simplest and fastest way hands down.

a single 'but': ctrl+d should trigger auto-selection of the new file, for me. Scripting solves this, anyway.

Not for me. I use these commands to make a quick backup before I continue working on the main file.
