Show by Groups

Secondly...congratulations for this great software!

About my question?
Why is not possible show the files sorted by groups?
I have read something about this matter in the forum.
But I don't have clear why can not be added as a new feature in some update?
Is a good option to have well organized our files...

Welcome to the forum.

Grouped by what? Extensions? For example you could show the extensions column and use that as the sort criteria to form groups

Or maybe using the Menu - Tools - Configuration... - Colors and Styles - Grid styles are more what you're looking for? Don't forget to read the help how to activate them...

I think Standby meant grouping under common group headers, like how WE does it. But this could be difficult time-consuming for Don, trying to implement header columns, as the file list is probably coded as a simple row-columns list where every row is sacred same.

Standby, you can try this:
Enable Menu > Tools > Customize list > Show grid.
Then go to Menu > Tools > Configuration > Styles > Grid style, and pick either "Alternate"- or "Highlighted groups" from the dropdown.
Now after you sort by some column, you'll have some sort of indicator of where each group starts and ends - depending on a few factors: your color settings for grid, listBG, and sorted column (and these for each list type), and Config > Styles > Apply list styles are applied globally.

Still, grids are only useful where sorted column data is "lumpy" - if every rows (even slightly) different, grid groups break down into alternate rows... cue a new wish.

Yes, you are right, I'm talking about show groups depending of the type that they are.
As WE do it.
For example, like this:



I have tried yours suggestions, and is a good alternative, show the kind of files in grids. Is good too,
but I think that is better have the files separated for the type that they are.
If you select with one click in the tittle of the group, you will have all the files selected.

But don't worry! Maybe is only one detail that is important for me...not for all the users
Well, thank you again, now I have the grid style configuration with highlighted groups, and is ok!

Is possible that we will have this option (show by groups) in next update?
