XYplorer Beta Club
Several tabs open. One is "C:\Downloads\_Special\" which is in my Favourites list, the others don't matter. I want to display "C:\Downloads\_Special\" in one of the other tabs so I go to "Favorites | Favorite folder | C:\Downloads\_Special\" but that simply moves me to the tab with that folder already open. Not what I want since I want two tabs with the same folder displayed.
Is this intentional behaviour or a bug? If so, have I missed an option to override it?

Intentional behaviour, made to avoid the multiplications of tabs. Using Catalog I beleive there's a little trick: don't click the item, but right-click and on its context menu choose "Go (Click)" Then it changes the tab's location instead of switching to another tabGandolf wrote:Is this intentional behaviour or a bug? Using the Goto/AB I think the location is always changed, you never jump to another tab. So you could copy the path from the first tab (Ctrl+P with focus on Tree, or on List with no selection) and use Ctrl+G or the AB to paste it/go there.
But, back to you, using Favorites you cannot escape this effect. Although, to open up a new tab on the same location, you can simply activate the first tab, and middle-click its location on Tree, or press Ctrl+T.
Last solution (or at least last I can think of for now
) is, when you're on the second tab that you want to change location to your favorite path, to right-click on the icon on tab header of the first tab. That way you'll get the breadcrumb popup menu with the path of that (first) tab, but clicking a path there will make it the current (2nd) tab's location.Proud XYplorer Fanatic

Thanks for the ideas jacky but I'm not a mouse user so, unfortunately, your suggestions don't really suit my way of working.
The method I use at present is Ctrl+Shft+G (Go to from here) on the first tab, select and copy the path, change to the other tab, Ctrl+Shft+G, and paste the path. Using "Go to from here" avoids the path being added to the history, but I do have to select the path before pasting.
I prefer not to use Ctrl+P since I might be on the tree or on the list.

It just seemed a little inconsistent:
Go to...; Go to from here...; Go to History... even Go to Application folder
all open another copy of the folder in the current tab.
But:
Go to favorites; Go to Hotlist (I only just checked that one)
moves to the tab with that folder already open in it.
It's not something I use very often and since I know that it is intended and there are ways to work round it, I'm happy for it to stay as it is.
