Eliminate some "Available Buttons" in Toolbar Config?

Post by KetchupKid »

Two things are not good in the left column of Toolbar Customization. 1) The list is just way too long without grouping them in categories; and (2) They are not in alphabetical order .. OR .. there should be a sort capability.

What I want to know, is if there is a way to eliminate some ( or a lot) of the "available buttons" so they no longer appear on this list?

For example, I'd eliminate many of the Drive buttons, and there are some buttons I've created with scripts that I no longer use or are no longer functioning - and yet they show in the available buttons column.

Any help? :?

Apart from the search field to narrow down the available buttons? No, there isn't any way to remove buttons from the (left) list permanently

Will any of these remarks be seen by XYplorer programmers? I'd like them to be suggestions for a near-future update of the app.

Don (who is the only programmer) reads all threads but he already said he has a lot on his plate this year so I wouldn't count on any changes (if ever), soon...

Okay - Thanks for the info.

I'm a paid/registered user of XYplorer for 2 or 3 years or so and have used it only for special situations and uses. Recently I have tried to make it my default file manager. Many things are good about it for that purpose - it's just that some things are frustrating. Fortunately, not as frustrating as the joke of a file manager in Win Explorer.

Well, i can always hope for a future fix in this area but will just do with things as they are in the meantime.

add those buttons to the toolbar, hold CTRL+right click them (on the toolbar), select edit, press "Clear", press "OK", then remove the button.
Clear custom buttons in this way before removing them from the toolbar in the future.
