File name jumps left

Would like to change a behavior but can't remember the name so can't look it up.

When working in the List View and a file is clicked it automatically becomes left aligned next to the Tree. What is this feature called and can it be altered or turned off?

Thanks for pointing the way. This came up on account of a recent shift to using List over Details View.

All the way back to 2010 and Win XP behavior. Can't but help thinking of Dooley Wilson singing "As Times Goes By" in Casablanca.

Have had to undo this. The Law of Unintended Consequences set in. Have come to understand why it is a tweak.
