Abbreviation, terminology and jargon

Someone make a sticky thread for explaining these things please
UNC, AB, BC, IP, DP, SC... are unfriendly to newbies.

They're all listed in History.txt, and in http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2617
and a subset is listed in ::help 'idh_glossary.htm';

Hm - I also think a sticky in Tips & Tricks, Questions and Answers would be convenient.

As those abbrevs are used rather often in the forum, and there are quite a lot, and you (pardon: say me) always just forgot the one you are just reading, ...

What would also be useful would be some use cases for catalogs, tags, paper folders etc etc to get users started and give them some ideas

I'm still not sure what the difference between tags and labels is (other than I can't have as many labels) and why I'd want to use labels instead of tags

labels are a set of tags that can do color coding.
