Disallow left-dragging from tree and list not working whichever way you set the 'switch' i.e. the tick mark.
What I mean is that if you tick the box then you get only a right click drag and drop and if you set it i.e. without the tick, then you still get only the ability to right click drag and drop.
This has been like this for several months and now and again I revisit the settings in the hope that they might work after say a new release of XYplorer.
It might be something unique to my machine and maybe something in the registry; I don't know.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
Any advice on this would be appreciated. It seems strange that whichever way you set this, then all you get is the right click setting etc.
Thank you

Re: Disallow left-dragging from tree and list not working
the tooltip says "The right button is always available for dragging" so this part (at least) is no bug
So to be sure: you can't drag-drop with the left-mouse button when "Disallow left-dragging from tree and list" is DISABLED/UNCHECKED?nogenius wrote:It seems strange that whichever way you set this, then all you get is the right click setting etc.

Re: Disallow left-dragging from tree and list not working
That is correct.
If you clear the tick box in the appropriate configuration settings, then all you get is the right drag function.
Yes; it is correct that whatever you do, then the right click drag and drop always works and therefore I have to use that method. However, I am generally used to using a left click and drag and so it is annoying to find that every time I use XYPlorer, I have to think each time and remember that no matter what settings I set, then I must use the right click drag and drop. Can you imagine you go into XYPlorer and you start dragging and wonder why when you drag down to the task bar to pop something into an email as a file attachment that lo and behold, all you have done is carried out a 'manual sort' on that set of files and then you wonder where the file you want has gone. You then look through the list or do a resort on name or something that will get you back to the file you want to deal with etc.
This must be a bug in the program unless there is something strange about my machine. I am surprised no one else has discovered this. Maybe everyone likes to use the safety belt functions and hence have to pop-up confirmation dialogue that you get with using the right click drag and drop. Again, this slows me down having to think do I want 'copy' or 'move here' etc.
Regarding my machine, then I am not using any other file manager whatsoever, other than Microsoft Windows Explorer.
I really am amazed that no one else has experienced this and no one else has replied to this posting in the forum.
Anyway, any further advice on this would be appreciated.
Many thanks

Re: Disallow left-dragging from tree and list not working
Hi.
I have a similar problem.
After downloading the latest beta, I cannot use the left button for drag and drop operations.
It behaves as though "Dissallow left dragging from tree and list" is checked. But it is not.
Right click dragging works.
The problem started appearing after enabling the new Scroll margin feature.
Any thoughts?

Check your setting of Tools/Customize List/Manual Sorting

You're absolutely right, Ralph, that was it! Must have unknowingly pressed Ctrl+M. Probably a missplaced Photoshop Shortcut.
Thanks a bunch.
