XYplorer history

A great software, a great developer should have a great history.
Now, I'm curious.

When was the first version? The ~3MB changelog history.txt says "v3.00.0098 - 1999-12-05 16:44" so I doubt 1st version would be earlier.

Any other great statistic/story you found out?
Some users with very high number of posts on this forum such as jacky, nas8e9 seems inactive now, they left XY?

I must say: I don't know.

The first version I heard of was TrackerV3 - the former name of XY. (The V3 seemed to have become a part of the name.) Maybe this was the first version distributed by Don?

And this forum? I think it was created when the rename to XYplorer was done? I'm sure there was a website before.

So it was 26-Feb-1997, we've just missed XY birthday
