As I see it currently, the left and right arrow keys do nothing while you are in the List view. If I'm wrong, ignore this whole post, if not, lean in and listen closely, I shall say zis only once!
Could we have it so the left and right arrow keys take us up and down directories in the list view just like they do in the tree view?
Digging down (right arrow),
if a directory is selected it will take you to that directory,
if there are multiple it will take you to the first visually in the list (this would depend on your currently listing preferences and therefore be variable)
If there are no directories selected, only then it would use the focussed directory.
Any glaring problems with this?

For me, it's only on the Search Results tab where the L/R keys are noticeable in what they do...since the path column is wide enough so it's mostly off-screen...
So I can understand why one might not realize that they are used for something.

Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Yeah basically.
I just find I can navigate the tree very quickly using just the arrow keys and would love a "mode" that you could enable to do this in the list view as well. It would completely remove the need for tabbing and switching pane or even moving your hand from a position at all.
