Drag and drop from Windows Desktop

Can someone tell me if XYplorer is able to handle drag FRM the windows desktop to a location in XY? I mean the real desktop, not the desktop window in XY. That does not work for me. I can drag to the desktop but not the other way around. I hope there is a way to do this. I have already paid for the program so I am stuck with the purchase. I am on Windows 8.1. Thanks!

Did you try?

Yes, you can drag TO and FROM the desktop area (the display when all windwos are minimized)
And, you can drag TO and FROM the desktop folder (the folder where desktop items are stored)

Drag and drop is possible, of course, but not if XY is run with elevated rights (as Administrator). There are explanations for this to be found in the web, e.g. here:

Ultimately it's a Windows thing. UAC, sigh.
