After selecting some files from Windows Explorer (8.1) and using either drag-drop or Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V into XYplorer (14.70), duplicate files are created with -01, -02 etc suffixes. By contrast, the same operation entirely within XY pops a permission dialog to overwrite the existing files. I much prefer the latter!
Is this a bug, or is it the expected behavior? Is there a way to XY (or Windows?) such that the confirmation dialog box presented?
BTW - I use Win Explorer only out of necessity - XY is unable to open my USB-connected Android device, so I drill down to the files through the Windows "devices" list. Sure would be nice to have that ability within XY!

Re: copy from Win Explorer creates duplicate files
Windows Explore (WE) handles file operations from/to such devices.jacksonmacd wrote:XY is unable to open my USB-connected Android device
I think to XY it appears that the copied files appeared out of nowhere, exactly as if created by external programs (WE in this case.)

Re: copy from Win Explorer creates duplicate files
Files from USB devices / MTP are only pseudo-files. They are handled rather like downloads or email-attachments. I'm still researching this...
