Can the Tag cloud refresh automatically?

I am using the tag cloud feature, but when I create new tags, it doesn't get added to the cloud unless I refresh it by removing it (from catalogs), then re adding. Am I missing something about how it is supposed to work? i.e., maybe it was meant to be that way?
