Rearranging the Drag'n'Drop Context Menu

Post by peterbonge »

Now the drag+drop context menu contains 4 copy and 4 move entries. I think it is time to separate the normal copy/move entries from the special ones:

Move Here
Copy Here
---
Move Here As...
Move Here to New Subfolder...
Move Here with Postfix Number
Copy Here As...
Copy Here to New Subfolder...
Copy Here with Postfix Number
---
Backup Here
...

And what's about entries from other programs? See the old (german) topic:

My System:
Windows 11 Pro, 64-bit, German

Yeah, good idea.

I need help from an English mothertonguer, what's best:
- "Move Here with Postfix Number"
- "Move Here with Number Postfix"
- something else

"Move Here with Postfix Number" would be preferable in my opinion - but I'm an engineer and engineers are noted for their bad English!!

My next-door neighbour has just come in and she is a school teacher. Her opinion is that "Move Here with Postfixed Number" would be more grammatically correct.

Some google investigations point to "suffix number" as the more common term... any objections?

PS: I'm not soooo pedantic, but I'm a studied linguist and programmer and that combination sometimes leads to apparent, uh, pedantism
