Re: A second panel in Tracker ?
It is possible to think it, but that won't make me do it unless you have very strong brain waves. You know, I'm a single-pane-kind-of-guy, in 1995 I jumped from DOS directly to Win95 -- never touched Win31 and it never touched me.steven wrote:Is it possible to think to implement in Tracker a second panel...
Believe me, copy/move of files using drag'n'drop works great with single pane managers. It's all psychology: trust the machine. There's no choice anyway. The fate of mankind is the "hands" of machines since decades, and so is yours. And there's no way back.
Dual pane is for control freaks. Cool users do drag'n'drop'n'trust. Try it!

I'm not sure if it's possible or not ... maybe I'm missing some features ... in that case sorry.
Anyway I mean something like this: using 2 pane usually I use shortcuts (F5 to copy, F6 to move, something other to swap panes, compare and so on ...) and I do this taking a look at the two panes at the same time.
As I wrote, maybe this is just possible with TV3, in this case sorry for my fault.

That's where dual manager comes handy: you don't need to switch tabs since the windows are visible at the same time.admin wrote:[...]You can cycle thru tabs by Ctrl+Tab. You can jump between here and the previous location by F7.
I'm not sure if it's a standard ... I've seen it on: Total Commander, 2x Explorer, xplorer2, and something others around ...admin wrote:BTW: "F5 to copy" sounds weird to me. Is that a standard somewhere/somewhen?

hehe i like your style dude..
i was wondering about the dual pane too.. but then i realized that, in the end, you ALSO have to browse through the other pane to get to the location u want.. so it really doesnt matter if its visible or not, but if its open already..in another tab.
in fact thats why i mentioned the copy/backup/move to feature, cause since there is no other pane, i wanted to know where things would end up. but i finallly worked it out through favorites,.. so its ok insnt it
