Hi,
When i go to the find dialog, fill in doc* to find every documents directory, then go to attributes, check the "Directory" option, and then click on find, it finds all document directory's, good... but:
I want to find all empty folders for one, and a second find for all big folders, let's say more then 1GB.
So i go to size, fill in at most 0kb to find empty dirs, but that doesn't work, i also tried 1kb, doesn't work either. Also try do find big directory's didn't work.
This would come in handy to remove empty directory's, and see those big directory's to find big documents that you don't need anymore to save some space on your drive.
Greetings,
Steve
Finding directory's doesn't work good...

2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.
When attaching an Image, please use the Attachment tab at the bottom of your post and click "Add files".

This ties in with this thread: http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?t=874
Where I posted about having a way to show total size and nbr of folders/files in the tree...which might partially solve this issue...having an ability to search for matching folder sizes would be the ultimate solution, it would seem.

Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Well, a "disk management" solution would be really cool, and could easilly allow one to find the "big" folders aswell.j_c_hallgren wrote:This ties in with this thread: http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?t=874

Having it on the FF feature could be cool, but would obviously need a lot more time (to calculate all folder's sizes) I guess. Though, when you're on search results you can calculate folder sizes, and then sort by sizes or select items according to their sizes with Selection Filters, so maybe one more little thing (like size criteria on VF) and it could be done, or just adding an option to calculate folder sizes on FF operations too....

The "disk management" solution won't happen very soon.jacky wrote:Well, a "disk management" solution would be really cool, and could easilly allow one to find the "big" folders aswell.j_c_hallgren wrote:This ties in with this thread: http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?t=874

In the meantime here's an easy way to check out folder sizes:
1. search for directories only (find files, attributes tab)
2. in the search results press Shift+F5 to calculate/display the folder sizes
3. sort list by size
4. drag path column to the left of the name column
Voila, I nice overview over your folders' obesity problems!
