Want new checkbox selection always on
Would like this ON by default. Is this possible? I looked for a config setting and could not find one.

Tools > Customize List > Checkbox Selection.
There's also a toolbar button available.

After you enable the checkbox selection, save your default folder view.
View > Folder View Setting > Define this folder view as default
View > Folder View Setting > Define this folder view as default

Re: Want new checkbox selection always on
Tick this: Configuration | Styles | Apply list styles globally
Then turn checkbox selection on.
Then turn checkbox selection on.

FVS is total overkill here. Style settings are remembered by default anyway.

Not in my case. When I set checkbox on for a folder, it was only on for that folder. Other folders had checkbox off. I had to use FVS to make it permanent for all folders.admin wrote:FVS is total overkill here. Style settings are remembered by default anyway.

That can only be the case if you already use a default FVS without checkboxes for all folders.mwoffenden wrote:Not in my case. When I set checkbox on for a folder, it was only on for that folder. Re: Want new checkbox selection always on
Thanks for everyone's comments. I think everyone is correct based on where they are coming from and the configuration they are using.
However, at the end of the day, the only thing that worked for in my situation, as mentioned, is using FVS to make it permanent for all folders.

Re: Want new checkbox selection always on
Weird.
So let me finally stress that checkbox selection works out of the box with nothing more than a single click as described here: http://www.xyplorer.com/release_13.10.htm. For all tabs, in all panes, in all OS, without any need for FVS or any other heavy feature.

Re: Want new checkbox selection always on
Hi Don,
When I activate it via Tools | Customize List | Checkbox Selection the check box is displayed in the current list, but changing to a different folder immediately makes it gone. Even going back to the previous list doesn't make it reappear on the folder it was initially activated.
Weird, indeed.
Cheers,
Filehero
I experienced the same FVS-dependency as mwoffenden. And with 13.10.0003 it's still unchanged.admin wrote:For all tabs, in all panes, in all OS, without any need for FVS or any other heavy feature.

Re: Want new checkbox selection always on
Hm, you can easily verify with a fresh install that FVS is not necessary at all.

And with my current setup I can make it work as expected, if I uncheck Applied Settings | List Style for the <Default>-FVS. If I check List Style again, the check boxes are gone again.
Cheers,

Re: Want new checkbox selection always on
That's what I already said here: http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic. ... 404#p93404
Folks, believe me. No need for FVS here. The whole idea of FVS is something totally different.
