Installation problems with 12.90

When I try to install version 12.90. I encounter this error, which prevents me from installing.

Sounds like XYplorer.exe might be stuck in memory?

I shut it down before installing the update !

Just a quick check but I'm sure you ran the installer as Admin right? Otherwise you might need to use IObit Unlocker to figure out that is locking that file.

Of course I ran the installer as Administrator. That is standard procedure, any computer expert should know

Though with XY it works quite well as a regular user too! (I haven't set XY to replace WE completely, which might influence this)
I always install it as a regular user and never had a problem so far.

Unlocker looks like it's full of malware and other software, this is odd why this is happening. Hopefully the author reads this thread.

I don't know why you say this. Maybe it offers some toolbar during installation, but a wise pc user knows how to avoid this. And it does its work perfectly.

Unlocker is a great tool and I use it myself. But if you for some reason don't like it, you can try LockHunter instead, which has similar functionality.

Both Unlocker and Lockhunder didn't solve the problem, as to why I can't install version 12.90

So what did those two tools show you? They should display whatever is blocking the given file (in this case xyplorer.exe). If nothing is blocking the file, did you try to just delete it and then run the installator?

I have deleted the file, three times and with that ran the installer, same issue arise !

Did you try to restart the computer? Other than that, you don't need to install anything, you can just download the portable version and extract it.

I can't restart the computer if it didn't install. Previous versions had no problem, this version, what the heck is going on !

Edit: Version 13.00 installed without any problems
