#178 is the internal command ID for Floating Preview. You see, what we are doing here is kind of a hack.

Yes, and I think this is a Windows 10 bug (something is not written to the 32-bit branch of the registry). When you set the standard app in Explorer, does it work then in XYplorer?
Code: Select all
> Miscellaneous | File Operations | Open Selected Item(s) by Shell: This
non-GUI command (#1057) was not working anymore in newer versions of
Windows 8 and 10 because on a whim they changed the capitalization of
certain key words that were guaranteed to be lower case before. Fixed. In
case ENTER or DblClick does not open a file, you can try this alternative
now (again). Let me know if it makes a difference.
That is a known problem for all other file managers and not XY specific.Pablo4s wrote: ↑19 Feb 2021 16:00 I apologize if the following problem has already been addressed, in case I ask for a link to its resolution, thanks.
When you open a photo, the Windows 10 "photo" application does not allow you to scroll through the other photos contained in the list, you have to open them one by one. This is not the case with Windows Explorer which allows scrolling using the keyboard arrows forward back
Don't get me wrong, IrfanView is fantastic software, but if you are strictly viewing images (and at that moment not using MDBU in XYplorer) use ImageEye https://www.fmjsoft.com/imageeye.html#main . It's extremely fast, frameless and also freeware.
I don't use Explorer previews normaly because for my primary file manager (Total Commander)klownboy wrote: ↑19 Feb 2021 18:42Don't get me wrong, IrfanView is fantastic software, but if you are strictly viewing images (and at that moment not using MDBU in XYplorer) use ImageEye https://www.fmjsoft.com/imageeye.html#main . Well I suppose everyone has their preferences. I honestly do not care that I have to use another software program for video. I want to use the best for the given situation or file type. ImageEye besides being lightning fast, has a very clean no frame interface. IrfanView though excellent software (and I do use it quite often) does not have that clean frameless image display even when you use
Hide=15 in the ini file. For video I use MPC-HC for essentially the same reasons. But, enough on this...this should be in the "Other Software" area. I have used some file managers in the past, for example Cuibic Explorer, Total Commander, And several others but I didn't remember this defect ... It seems to me that not all of them have this image scrolling problem. Anyway thanks for the information, I'm sorry to have to install an external application given the potential of XY plorer ..... Or I'll use Windows Explorer ...Horst wrote: ↑19 Feb 2021 18:29That is a known problem for all other file managers and not XY specific.Pablo4s wrote: ↑19 Feb 2021 16:00 I apologize if the following problem has already been addressed, in case I ask for a link to its resolution, thanks.

There are better Photo viewers, I use IrfanView which doesn't have such restrictions.
