Yes, noted this too. Might have to do with the gradient and how I created it. I'll see if I can improve this.

OK, to finish today's icon load here comes a "comic" style icon that hopefully comes across as skillful understatement aka "good bad"...

Same here, i like the recent buffalo more, but some change in angle might make "Y" better. Here is a buffalo turned slightly to its left.

Also, if the left leg were slightly longer Y would look better.

I like that! What function did you use, "perspective distortion" or so?

X files -- not that far away from XY file management...

Unfortunately, photoshop's perspective function creates artifacts in the lines (also GIMP's)... and my version of illustrator does not seem to have a good way to do it either...

Maybe you can use some free 3D text maker and play around to get this effect.

The distorted icon doesn't look so good -- props for the effort though -- as the shape seems to lack symmetry. The dark colours are still not doing it for me, but if it will be an alternative icon then no biggie :|

How about this? I messed up the shadow some, but at least there's the idea.

Yeah, that was my original idea before I played around with the forms and fell in love with the buffalo. It looks good but the Y is too prominent for my taste.

What software/function did you use for the perspective distortion? it looks better than all I achieved up to now.
PS: Ok, in the meantime I found out how to get good results with photoshop...

No, this is about the new main icon. There also will be a complete relaunch of the web site.
