Indeed the user has options, and I think if the user still values the original service more than the one that does work in XY, they'll continue to request support.

If they find the new service to be more valuable than the original and it has the bonus of working in XY, I wouldn't expect them to continue to request support for the original, and I don't see why Don shouldn't take that as decreased demand.

If your argument is more that in the latter scenario the user should consider the needs of the community as a whole, and though they no longer need the service they should continue to request support for the good of all.... well, it's a noble and hopeful thought that I don't necessarily disagree with, but feels a bit like wishful thinking. :mrgreen:
