Surely evildoers will never see why they are evildoers.

A "social network" is not a replacement for RSS feeds, e-mail or a web search engine. It is made for staying in contact with people. That said, there's always Jabber and e-mail, so actually there is no point in them anyway.

Among all these "social networks" Facebook is a parasite anyway. M. Zuckerbeg said: "They trust me, these idiots" or something. You can't see the problem providing your daily life to this guy?

And I will take the blame for stupidly naming my "project" consisting of neglected AutoHotkey/XY scripts and TextPad syntax/clipping definitions, simply "xyplorer".

Sadly, Google won't allow you to actually delete or rename projects, so the best I could do is either create a new project with a better name and schedule this one for deletion or turn ownership of the current project over to someone else.

If you want either of those Don, let me know, otherwise I'm far too lazy to deal with it. :P

EDIT: Would help if I linked to it: https://code.google.com/p/xyplorer/

tux., I think that as chief promoter of XYplorer it is rather hypocritical of you to deny usefulness of mediums that encompass getting on for 1 billion users. These days, promotion that does not include Facebook and Twitter is almost unheard of, regardless of your objectives.

Promotion is not necessary on XY fan sites as they are visited by those who don't need promotion anymore anyway.

But it's not just about promotion, but also about keeping people informed and engaging with community via means other than the forum.

A forum is a community. More flexible than an FB fanpage will ever be.

You clearly have an axe to grind against Twitter and Facebook. Feel free to promote XYplorer via alternative means.

I created a facebook page for XYplorer:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/XYplorer/197770266933943

Now show me what this is good for. :)

It's fast, powerful, portable, dual paned, and multi-tabbed.
UNIQUE! :D

And colorful, scriptable, undoable, best supported...

Nope, we have our first fan :)

tux., can you please give your vendetta against FB a rest? You made it clear that you do not like Facebook/Twitter. It's getting to be borderline trolling, if I'm honest.

XYplorer chief promoter, please explain the link to a competing product in your signature.

The link that has been there for a while has no relation of any kind to my job as a chief promoter; or at least it doesn't have a negative influence on it. Actually, it is there for 1) information and to 2) show where the competition is going. Not advertising, just demonstrating.
