1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).
We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.
When attaching an Image, please use the Attachment tab at the bottom of your post and click "Add files".

Re: Tab folder Icons
Why should a junction be treated as filled (they don't have to)?

Re: Tab folder Icons
I didn't say they "have to".
I just pointed out that it would be a more logical way to present it to the user in the GUI..
Of course junctions don't contain anything, but the folder they link to, might.
And this folder is the reason the user creates the junction in the first place.
They want to see the folder not the underline junction mechanism..

Re: Tab folder Icons
Not here.
- How did you create those junctions?
- Can you show a complete screenshot with tree and list to get a better picture of the entire situation?

Re: Tab folder Icons
As I was saying from the beginning, these are "Symbolic links" (even if XYplorer sees them as junctions).
I create them using Link Shell Extension, a very useful explorer extension.
I'm now back to 26.40.0300, but if you think it will help, I can update and take some screenshots.- Can you show a complete screenshot with tree and list to get a better picture of the entire situation?
What are the things that such a screenshot should contain?

Re: Tab folder Icons
For starters Tabs, Tree, List (proving emptiness of the folder).

Re: Tab folder Icons
On the right side we see two folder that contain stuff.
The symbolic link one, shows that contains 897Mb of data but has the Black/empty icon When I click on it, the tab icon it gets is the default windows folder icon.
So the folder for the user is simultaneously filled and empty, something like the Schrödinger cat..

Re: Tab folder Icons
Well, I can't explain it. Some piece of the puzzle is missing. Again, I'm sure you can find the reason by logical thinking and experimentation.

Re: Tab folder Icons
You mean that you can't replicate it?
If you can't, what part of it is not happening?

Re: Tab folder Icons
It's likely to do with you using the /f switch in addition to normal.ico|selected.ico icon state definition, try to remove the /f

Re: Tab folder Icons
Bingo, I could reproduce it with the /f switch AND the junctions pointing to network locations AND "Check Network Locations for Content-Based Folder Icons" disabled.
