if by Catalog you mean the directory tree on the left-hand pane then everything works just fine. Up and down for vertical scroll and if no vertical is available but the pane extends horizontally then it scrolls from left to right and vice versa.

No, the Catalog is below the tree. Don't tell me you don't know about the Catalog! It's among the best things in XY... (menu Window | Show Catalog ...).

I am ashamed to say that I never knew about its existence

WOW, this again shows how bad I am at talking about my product! How is it possible to overlook the Catalog? It's everywhere on the website... what can I do???

I don't think I have seen a Catalog-equivalent function in Windows Explorer so when I moved to XYplorer I wasn't looking for it because I never had it in the first place before.

Personally, my desktop space is at a premium so having Catalog enabled restricts my vertical scrolling in the directories tree pane so I don't think I'll be using it, not until I can find a practical use for it and get a new 24" monitor at the same time

I know people who replaced the tree with the catalog! :)

Just tested: scroll wheel (in catalog) works for me!
Logitech MX 1000 Laser Mouse with rather old software: 2.40.855 (seems from 2005?)

Aha, thanks, at least one. :)

Alas, I assume that the Logitech mice that do not work on XY's catalog work fine everywhere else in other applications, so the burdon and blame is on me...

 So what do you suggest that Don do to make it "in-your-face" obvious to new users that this unique and great feature exists? For now, I'd ask if you've looked thru the wiki as it highlights and better describes some of XY's 'extensions' to WE. There are quite a number of things that XY can do which WE (and some other file managers) can't so to get the best use of XY, one needs to explore it!

Most of the time, I've got the tree at 2/3rd of total space and Catalog as remaining 1/3rd, and that seems to work just fine for me, and that's on a 14" laptop screen...the advantages of the Catalog definitely outweigh the loss of tree area, IMO.

Hi Don

The Mouse Wheel works with no problem in the list view and in the tree view, but not in the Catalog View.

That's because Tree and List still use old scrolling code...

Okay, just uploaded a version that hopefully fixes it. I hard-coded "extra-wheel support" because it does not harm where it is not necessary (but see below!). Let's see...

There is still a mysterious glitch here where sometimes wheeling a new control will also scroll the previously wheeled control one more time. Not my code... :?

Hi,

Forget what I wrote last.

It works when, but I need to click in the Catalog view to get to work.
The same for list view and tree view.

One interesting thing is that when I click in the Catalog view to activate the view and click on the white area it open the item on the same row.
The item is set to Open on Click.

Hope you understand what I mean, otherwise let me know.

Should also tell you that in the list and tree view it is enough to move the mouse to the view you want to scroll in,
but to get Catalog to work you need to click in the Catalog View.

Hmm, not what I expected. I had the impression (reports from various users) that scrolling works 100% okay when you check "Extra Wheel Support" in my test app ( http://www.xyplorer.com/download/Scroll ... Tester.zip ). So also in the test app, you need to click the control first???

To focus the catalog by click without triggering an item: click into the leftmost area of the control (8 pixels wide; where the triangle icon sits).
