Re: Having problem when opening photo in XYplorer.
In my case I double click , but enter has the same effect of bringing up this prompt to clarify which program.
If I go to "open with" i have no option to do anything related to opening or setting a program.
And yes, to my surprise if I right click and go to "Open" it does open in the default program!

Re: Having problem when opening photo in XYplorer.
Does it work you select the item to open and then run either of these through the XYplorer address bar?:
And a question: When opening by dblclick/ENTER fails, do see anything in the debug log?:
Code: Select all
ShellOpen <curitem>;Code: Select all

Re: Having problem when opening photo in XYplorer.
BTW, I cannot reproduce this issue on my Windows 10 (release 1909). Neither on Win8.1.

Hi Admin. In my case, the debug log is totally empty at all times
Using either of these commands you've instructed me to try in the address bar having selected a jpg results in the windows dialog appearing for me to clarify yet again what I want to use to open the image with.

Re: Having problem when opening photo in XYplorer.
Is that with the 32-bit or with the 64-bit context menu?
And, in the next beta (v21.10.0024), please try this again:
Code: Select all
echo get("assoc","jpg");FAQ | XY News RSS | XY X

Re: Having problem when opening photo in XYplorer.
To see the 64-bit one by default this has to be ticked:
Configuration | Other | Shell Integration | 64-bit Windows | Show the 64-bit context menu

Re: Having problem when opening photo in XYplorer.
Thats enabled, so yes 64bit environment with 64bit shell menu. Disabling it and using 32bit menu doesn't seem to alter the situation.

Re: Having problem when opening photo in XYplorer.
You mean you can open the image via the 32bit menu command?

Re: Having problem when opening photo in XYplorer.
Your answer is a bit unclear.
Are both of these statements true?
1) You can open an image file with the 32-bit context menu.
2) You can open an image file with the 64-bit context menu.

Re: Having problem when opening photo in XYplorer.
I don't know how to say it any clearer other than the use 64bit context menu was enabled when i went to check it. Disabling that checkbox changed nothing. So everything I have previously said in this thread is exactly as it was before. No different. It still harrasses me with the prompt in exactly the same ways it did before, opening either via the context menu or via other methods.

Re: Having problem when opening photo in XYplorer.
I tried to create a question that you could simply answer with yes or no. But instead you replied again with a completely confusing statement. Didn't you say before:
Now you say nothing works?
Sorry, I'm out. This does not lead to anything useful. Waste of time.

- Please provide a screenshot of that context menuAnd yes, to my surprise if I right click and go to "Open" it does open in the default program!
- This "Open" entry exists in both the 32- and 64-bit context menu?

Re: Having problem when opening photo in XYplorer.
So I made one mistake, sorry but im not used to such constant testing and am trying to work a full time job.
- Right click context menu open (32bit) prompts constantly
Right click context menu open (64bit) DOES open straight away. Saying it wasn't was incorrect, I just forgot it had worked yesterday when tested.
