But the meaning of the original lines wasn't that bad IMHO (sorry for posting that late in the discussion, my online time is scarce).
Since there's only one setting (per view type), even more so defined by XYplorer, one can consider that it's Defined as a Default setting — as opposed to several Custom/personal settings that users shall be able to save soon...
So, something along the lines of:
Define Default Column Layout
Reset Default Column Layout
Just my 2c
