But if I use Ctrl+Enter (open focused) then it uses "explore", that's not good I think, should be "open" here too. (or "explore" al the time if you want since it's the default one, but same command for both actions)
Here it uses Open all the time! :?

Forget it, it's not possible. And please, use the Wishes section for wishes.

There surely is a way, and it was even described in this forum I think, I just can't find it right now.
k I think I got it, but I still need you ;)

First, there are 2 "commands" for folders: open & explore. If I select more than 1 folder and press enter, XY uses the "open" command. That's good. But if I use Ctrl+Enter (open focused) then it uses "explore", that's not good I think, should be "open" here too. (or "explore" al the time if you want since it's the default one, but same command for both actions)

Now let's say we got that fixed, what I did was usig "XYplorer.exe %L" (%L being the folder's path) But then another instance(s) of XYplorer is launched! :? I don't want that, I want XY to open the folder(s) in new tab(s) instead. Could there be either a parameter (like /innewtab or /useprevinst) to add to make it do that, or in the config a "only one instance of XY" ? (actually the parameters would be better, or even better: both! :))

That'd be awesome :D

Not here.

General answer: I suggest you always keep a previous "good" version of XY BETA before you try the new. In cases like surrender's or CyGho's you can quickly recheck with the old version and verify whether the issue is connected to the new version or to something else.

nope, works fine for me, whether I "really" delete it or send it to the bin, it's fast.

Slow delete problem

Post by surrender »

I just downloaded the new version 4.40.0026. The mentioned features are cool. But one little thing. Just try creating a new folder and press delete. it takes abt 20 seconds to delete that. same if you right click and delete. but dragging to recycle bin deletes it in a flash. i can say for sure this was not the same in previous versions. does anyone has the same problems?? I use Winxp SP2 on my laptop, with 2.5Ghz CPU and 640mb ram.

+ Menu File: added command "Open Focused Item" (Ctrl+Enter). Will
open just the focused item (even if it is not selected) and leave
      the (other) current selections unchanged.

Yes i reversed to a previous version. Was the same. Rebooted my server witch speeded it up again a bit so it's back "normal". So it has nothing to so with this new version, sorry.
B.t.w. i posted a question the other day here. Specialy for mapped drives with long listings, witch is still mutch slower in XYplorer then in Windows explorer.
It's out of this threads scope so answer overthere, if you wish that is :).
Software: should we be aware because it's soft ? I like to think not !
