A couple of wishes

I have a couple of wishes that I would like to share.

I would XY to be able to copy (or move) a file (or folder) but with a new name. What I mean is that I can copy file A and paste it (possibly into the same folder) as file B. This would be handy if I want to copy a file into a folder which already contains a file with the same name that I don't want to clobber. Maybe as part of the file overwrite warning, XY could offer to allow me to change the name of the file I am copying. This would encompass both the "Cut/Copy" and "Paste" usage as well as the "Copy To/Move To..." usage.

I would like it if XY could run (or open) a program but with command line arguments that I can enter sort of like the start menu run box. The option could be something like "Open (with arguments)".

These two features would make life easier.

Wish 1: Its already there. Do you use ctrl+D or ctrl+shift+d or ctrl+s?? or select a file/folder and right-click-hold, move and release and you get a handy context menu.

Wish 2: Don knows.

Yeah, it's already here in the great XY's extended drag&drop menu

And to be clear, all those commands are on that XY custom right-d&d ctxt menu and some have shortcuts:
Ctrl+D (think Duplicate) : Copy Here with Suffix Number
Shift+Ctrl+D : Copy Here with Suffix Date Modifed
Ctrl+S (think Save As) : Copy Here As...

First two uses the usual templates, last one will ask you for the name. Using shortcuts means it has to be on the same folder, obviously, while right-d&d allows youto get that anywhere else you want

Also, on the ctxt menu you'll have the same commands but for Move operations, instead of Copy.

FYI: Ctrl+S: Copy Here As... is also featured in the File menu.

Oh right, and it's called "Save Here As" on this menu. Could it be renamed "Save As" and allow to enter a full path aswell as a filename (default being the current location, obviously, but not limited to then) ?

... allowing relative paths as well so you could say ..\ for the parent...
... and then even something like ..\..\new directory name\and subdir\filename.txt that creates a new path (with or without the relative thing) and pops the file there

All sounds "a la" Move/Copy To window feature (Shift/Ctrl+F7); which has autocomplete, relative paths, non-existing paths, and even date variables!
It's just a bit slower (probably to load the full window, MRU, etc), and can't rename the item on the fly either.

BTW I think it would be better if those windows could have the focus on the textbox when they show up (and change the tab order aswell, to get textbox, btnBrowse, MRU list, ....), no?

Whoops!

I didn't see "Copy here as" on the context menu because for some strange reason I had the custom context menu turned off. It looks like this function only exists when dragging and dropping and not if you copy and paste (or use Copy To/Move To). For the sake of consistency, wouldn't it be preferable to have the option in all copy and paste type operations?

So...is there a chance for my 2nd wish?

But you're aware that Save As would work just for *one* item a time, and, as jacky already said, you have it all (apart from renaming) in Copy To.
Where's the practical real world use to copy-and-rename an item?

As a side note, I quite often find myself needing to copy things backwards and forwards, so is there a way to automate say, ^Left Arrow and ^Right Arrow to copy the files currently selected, go back in the History and then paste them (right arrow would be forwards in the history if it exists)?

The F7 dialogs will be enhanced soon by Favorites and Tabs lists (complementing the current MRU list), so I *might* add history here as well...
