Re: Windows auto start & netword drives
I've just made a test by disconnecting one of my network drive.
Then i went in xy, tools \ tools specials \ map network drive, i was asked for credentials and voilà, it works... until i reboot
because things does not work again, ie i can't access the newly attached network drive and i'm not asked for credentials

Re: Windows auto start & netword drives
Well it was more a suggestion that if you were using MiniTree already then you might want to enable the MiniTreeVerifyOnSelect tweak to get the login prompts. As you aren't using MiniTree that tweak doesn't matter.Feelgood wrote:I don't use minitree yet as i don't know this feature yet, i'm just looking into it right now and it seems an interesting feature i may use in the short future.
Your quotes mention some text configuration. Where can we modify this configuration (if you advice me to do so or want me to do a specific test) ?
Also, since you aren't yet familiar with INI tweaks, it is probably safe to assume you don't have TreeSkipVerifyOnSelect enabled either - which would prevent the login prompts.
For more information about what INI tweaks are and how to set them read here: http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3543
EDIT: After starting XY does Tools > Tools Special > Reconnect All Mapped Network Drives help any?

Re: Windows auto start & netword drives
Good idea but unfortunately notTheQwerty wrote:Feelgood wrote: EDIT: After starting XY does Tools > Tools Special > Reconnect All Mapped Network Drives help any?
[EDIT] : at least, there has been some progress as i were not able to browse my network drive at all with XY and now, by disconnecting and reconnecting them, i can
The thing i can't understand is while i'm asked for windows credentials, i check the option to memorize these credentials but as nothing is memorised because even the default windows explorer ask for credentials after reboot, what is the purpose of this option ?

Re: Windows auto start & netword drives
An idea to resolve this problem finally, is, as windows is not able to remember passwords, then xy could do it for it.
I mean, when windows start, xy start too, disconnect all drives and reconnect them.

Re: Windows auto start & netword drives
I don't know if it's important or not to mention but i have 3 network drives using the same credentials, once i connect another one to the same volume, the first 3 becomes availables (until i reboot).
Ignore this message if it does help in any way.

Re: Windows auto start & netword drives
Good but I guess it will be harder to test netork drive with a seven context
or a more general solution can be find like "disconnect all drives and reconnect them"

Re: Windows auto start & netword drives
Win 8 is crap. I gave up to return to Win 7.
Anyway, Don, do you intent to gear XY toward mobile devices (tablet/smart phones) that use Win 8?

Re: Windows auto start & netword drives
It has been discussed, it does not work.
I have been invited to search google for windows priviledges, launch windows tasks or such things which are not the easy way and as it's just a basic feature, i feel it can be offered by XY

Re: Windows auto start & netword drives
Are you talking about autostarting it with admin privileges?
Well than it doesn't work from the autostart folder.
Apart from that it's the easiest task on earth to create a task to do that...
Extract it to your XYplorer folder (it must be in a subfolder named
"@SendTo Tasks") and start the file "@SendTo Tasks [Install].bat"
from a CMD with admin privileges once.
Done...
