Properties button opens context menu
Hi there, Am I the only one this is happening to? After a recent XY update my Properties toolbar button now opens the context menu instead. Cheers.

Re: Properties button opens context menu
Strange. Any idea what might cause it, Don? I've tried a clean install of XY and the button works fine in that so something has gotten corrupted somewhere. I don't particularly want to start from scratch with a clean install so any ideas you might have would be great.
UPDATE: So I used Windows restore previous version function and I've got a correctly working button again. Sure would be nice to know what the change was though :-)

No idea. FYI, the button calls the same function as menu File | Properties or Alt+Enter.

Re: Properties button opens context menu
Funny you should mention that, because I finally just updated to the latest beta to try out the x64 context menu, and while I am generally happy with it, I do have a couple complaint, one of which is this - I noticed immediately that if I toggled on the option to always show the x64 context menu (rather than having to select it from the default xyp context menu), it also started showing that context menu when I hit alt-enter, instead of showing the properties dialog. That is kind of annoying.admin wrote:No idea. FYI, the button calls the same function as menu File | Properties or Alt+Enter.
If I toggle that option back off, it goes back to showing the properties dialog, though I also noticed that it's started playing the generic "there was an error" ding when opening the properties dialog by hitting alt-enter as well, which I don't think it used to. It still opens it, it just also dings (the ding you get if for instance, you hit alt+space, then with that context menu open, hit space again.)
Anyway, I totally love that I can get to the x64 context menu easily now (that was really the only major thing keeping xyp from being perfect, that I couldn't work around in some way), but I'd like it more if I could default it to that context menu without breaking something else. (Incidentally, feature request, inch-mile-wise: any chance whatever magic you're using to access the context menu, could also launch the properties dialog the same way when you hit alt-enter? That's really what I'm trying to get at, as I have a couple utils that hook into that dialog but only the x64 version. But context menu button -> properties is still way more convenient than "open explorer, browse back to the file, hit properties".)
Would be happy to provide any additional information you could think of to help figure out why it's doing that; just let me know.

Re: Properties button opens context menu
Confirmed and fixed, thanks.
Nothing can stop the ding though, it has always been there. (Unless you change the keyboard shortcut to something other than Alt+(key).

Re: Properties button opens context menu
Awesomesauce.
And I guess I just haven't ever opened properties while I had the sound nonmuted; funny. (Then again, I guess I haven't opened too many properties from xyp, since most of the reason I'd be doing that was to get to other 3rd party extensions using that dialog, the ones I mentioned.
