Menu > Panes > Sync select ?

Post by calude »

could the sync select option be made constant (on always, when selected) like sync scroll and sync browse.
this way we avoid the back and forth with dialog at each sync selection
also
would be nice if the selected item in the second pane would be auto aligned (scroll) with the original item

Sync browse is awesome

I agree, in my testing with it this would be most valuable making it easy to see the differences between folders as you navigate.

You mean always auto-select+focus the same-named item in the inactive pane? Not sure if that is so good for everybody/in every situation...

With Sync Browsing enabled we are navigating through two similar directory structures. One of the great uses of this is to compare the contents of the folders in both panes which is where Sync Select comes in. What we are suggesting is that when you move into another folder that the Sync Select option chosen remains on so that the differences between the folders can easily be seen whilst navigating. Does that make more sense now?

Ah, got it! Well, it looks like a good idea, but at the moment I'm not so interested in this complication. The interface for this needs more thinking than I can spare right now.
