Focused item after file deletion on long file lists

Post by JohnM »

I have a folder with a 100+ files in it.

I select a file near the top of the file list and then delete it.

The focus (I have “highlight focused row” turned on) disappears from view and moves to a seemingly random file near the bottom of the file list (ie I have to scroll down to find it).

I have “auto-refresh” and “suspend refresh during file ops” turned on. I also have “turn off delete conf” turned on.

It doesn't do this with only a few files in the folder.

Does anyone else see this? Have I missed something?

Cheers

I'm guessing your folder is NOT sorted by Name, right? Cause it happens to me too, and I noticed the focus was back on the item that is first when sorted by Name (it's sorted by Created date now)

Edit: Actually the focus is always back to that item, even when sorted by Name, Sort order doesn't matter here. I just meant you're not sorting by Name hence that item not being on top of the list.

My folder is sorted by name.

The focus seems to jump back to a previously selected file.

Yes, a little brand-new bug added in v5.40.0025. Fixed.
