ZIP and batch rename w/pattern

Currently I do the following several times a day:

1) select several files
2) create a zip (using winzip)
3) batch rename using a pattern

I'd like to get this into a script that I can invoke steps 2-3 using a toolbar button.

Can someone help me setup the script?

highend asked you to elaborate because your posts haven't exactly described what you want/need to do in enough detail, ok? "Batch rename with pattern" is just too vague for this case...
