:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

getting folder sizes... (ESC to stop) - Not!

Post by John Bee »

Doing a search on MyComputer with show folder size on.

After XY finished the search (>48K files, >6,000 folders) it then started to get the folder sizes........

It was taking its time, and since I didn't need this info with this search, I hit ESC to stop it, or I tried to. Hit ESC many times in vain.

I had to forcibly shut XY down from the taskmanager as XY was at this point sucking the life out of the cpu making everything else bog down.

Is the ESC actually working in the search window :?:

I almost reproduce this, but just in time it all worked.
So to say, I had show folder sizes ON and searched a folder with some 33,000 items and as John said after search it started to get folder sizes and when i tried to escape, it did not work and everything froze (it showed not responding). But suddenly, all came out fine and folder sizes were shown and all.
I did not have to shut XY down, but surely esc key did not work here. Also, for some reason my search tab was not auto-locked.

Yes! Bug admitted. Comes from a little "improvement" I added 1 month ago. Well, it was no improvement.

Good find, thanks! :D
