Windows 7: Very slow to retrieve non-local drive's info

View > Refresh is painfully slow in one of these cases:
- Mapped a network drive, which is non-accessible (i.e: I have some drive mapped to my company's network, which is non-accessible when then I access from home wifi)
- CD-drive/floppy drive with disc inside
Even right click on the network drive is slooooow as hell!

The reason is Windows tries to retrieve info from those drives (i.e: capacity; free space...) according to this http://www.zdnet.com/blog/askbloggie/wh ... -fix-it/16

So, anyone knows how to fix this Windows' behaviour?
Can XYplorer offer a solution?

P.S the website above suggest to unmap all network drive, which works for me, but of course, not a good solution
btw, why View > Refresh List doesn't suffer from this slowness while View > Refresh Tree does?

Unavailable network drives are always problematic because finding out whether they are unavailable takes just as long as assuming they are available and then failing. I see no way, apart from excluding network from the refresh. But then I will get letters from other users.

Then, a small wish: a tweak to exclude network & Optical drives from refresh

btw, I have to manually add the tweak to the ini file under [Settings] section.
(Tried adding to [General] section does not work).
