i installed the Samsung Galaxy SIII phone app Kies so my notebook could transfer files to/from the phone.
this app was installed before i installed XYplorer but what i recently noticed is when i connect my phone to my notebook only windows explorer can see the phone and not XYplorer.
is this a limitation of XYplorer?
should i reinstall Samsung Kies?
if there is a better sw option than this Kies app please let me know.
fwiw, XYplorer is a real kick ass app man.

While it relies on shared wifi connection, I'm a fan of the AirDroid app to interact with my Droid X phone.f3rus wrote:if there is a better sw option than this Kies app please let me know.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

not bad, not bad at all. luckily, i have a few running machines here at home base so this app worked easily and well. i'll ditch the Kies, was never much of a fan anyways. appreciate your recommendation and reply

You're welcome!f3rus wrote: appreciate your recommendation and reply
AirDroid was/is recommended as a "must have" app by a couple of well known tech media folks that I listen to/follow...and when I finally got a smartphone last year (ok, so it was a used one but new to me), AirDroid was among the very first apps that I installed...part of reason that I needed it quickly was because the eBay seller couldn't locate the USB cable and i didn't want to buy one if I could avoid it so knew that a wifi solution was possible to get a few pix from phone back to laptop.
