DOpus is a good product. But this betrays lack of imagination, not just bad taste. So, if you're a seeking asylum or refuge don't go to Australia, you'll find it very hard to get in and you may die in the attempt. But that doesn't stop one of their software companies from using your plight for marketing purposes. Tacky.

In attempting to create a slamdunk comparison of features which they see as having the edge over XY, they instead come up with a short list of aspects that are mostly irrelevant for most users or, at worst, minor inconveniences.

If your product is so all-round bonzer. You don't need to lure customers away from your competitors with bribes.

Is this a part of the newest .NET-talk? I do not plan to switch my WinXP horse any time soon and I do not regard .NET applications as portable. So, I actually do not like the idea, but most probably that way belong to a minority, unfortunately.

The only appealing thing I would see in the .NET idea from a developer's point of view, would be Mono with a multi-platform vision.

I will say that retaining the downward breadcrumbs if they still apply to a new root is a pretty smart idea which I definitely see being useful when navigating similar siblings.
