?? Everything finds any file very quickly, but I want to stay in XY interface, and having only in the main files list the ones I want.
Ie I enter "xls" then only "*xls*" files are now displayed in the XY window.

Lol. I think Marco actually means Listary. Everything is a search engine and Listary is a live filter application. Listary version 4 works with XYplorer so you can stay within XYplorer. Of course it's does not exactly live filter XYplorer itself but rather pops up its own window inside of XYplorer with the results. Try it. It's the closest thing you can get to Live Filter as of now.

Thanks for the clarification Enternal, but I meant Everything indeed.
I tried Listary several times, but it never seemed to filter the way I expected to. Everything just works instead.
When I suggested Everything I was thinking about some little script that loads the current path XY is browsing into Everything, so to narrow the scope of the search. Actually, Everything provides ( http://www.voidtools.com/download.php ) even a command line utility that takes as input the search string and outputs the matches. Someone with the necessary WM_COPYDATA skills (which I don't have) could create something intersting out of it... while we wait for Live Filter

Ah I see what you mean. Regarding WM_COPYDATA, that's exactly what I'm currently using with Everything and XYplorer. I just had Everything forward the data to your XYplorer Messenger app (awesome app and thank you!) which just then forwards it to XYplorer. The only thing is that I think jjk wants it all to be within XYplorer so that's why I was thinking of Listary rather than Everything.
