File truncated when dragging from outlook?
I'm using the trial version of XYplorer 11.90.0100 on Windows 7 x64.
After I drag a file from the attachment of an email msg in Outlook 2010 and drop it into the XYplorer window, the file created by XYplorer is always smaller than the original attachment. Everything else is perfect so far...
Is this a bug or a configuration issue?
Thanks!

Re: File truncated when dragging from outlook?
Is the file alright? The apparent size differences might be artifacts of encoding and how the bytes are counted.

Re: File truncated when dragging from outlook?
The language of Windows 7 and Outlook 2010 are both in English. It's OK when tested with Windows Explorer, Q-Dir or xplorer2. But it just can't work with XYplorer somehow...

Re: File truncated when dragging from outlook?
Hm, that's not an answer to my question.
Anyway, I don't have Outlook to test this. Anybody else maybe?

Re: File truncated when dragging from outlook?
Well, your question is on the file. I'm pretty sure the files in Outlook that I tested are absolutely OK because they are kept intact after being dragged into other file explorers.
I did further tests and found your guess is reasonable and I attached the test files below:
Thanks.

- Test.zip is the original file attached in Outlook.
- Test-DraggedIntoXYplorer.zip is the file created by XYplorer after dragging from Outlook

Re: File truncated when dragging from outlook?
I meant the dropped file when I asked "Is the file alright?". Now I see it is not alright. I currently cannot explain it. The drop function has not been changed for many years and there have not been any complaints yet apart from yours.
PS: what happens when you go via clipboard (copy/paste attachment)?

Re: File truncated when dragging from outlook?
I'm also using Outlook 2010 on a Win7 machine. And 11.90.0100.
I received an email with 4 attachments. 1 jpg and 4 pdf's. After reading the 1st post I decided to give it a try and see what happened.
For the jpg Outlook said it was 2 MB. After I copied with drag & drop (actually it said Move???) to XYplorer the file was 1810 KB.
The 4 pdf's were shown as 93 KB, 766 KB, 93 KB and 884 KB in Outlook. After the drag & drop of these to XYplorer the sizes were identical.
I also tried the same thing with WE with identical size results.
I've also used Outlook 2003 in the past and noticed that once an attachment exceeds 1 MB it looks like Outlook rounds it off to closest MB. I have received emails with Outlook saying they are 1 MB and after copying or saving the attachment they have been 1.46 MB. In XYplorer and WE. Outlook 2010 is the same.
I very seldom receive a zip file so I couldn't test it. But on jpg and pdf it's working fine here.
Thought I'd pass along.

Copy and Paste is OK!
Re: File truncated when dragging from outlook?
Hi admin!
Is there any update on this issue?
Again I'm using English version Windows 7 + Outlook 2010. I still can't drag WORD, EXCEL etc non-plain-text attachment from outlook into Xyplorer from version 11.90 to 12.80.
I tried the alternative to copy-n-paste, but it only works for attachments with only ascii filenames. If the attachment contains Chinese characters, XYplorer will popup an error message when you paste:
Of course, there is always an alternative. I can copy from Outlook and paste into Windows explore, and then copy from Windows explorer and paste into Xyplorer. But in this case, what is the advantage of XY?
Please fix this issue and I wouldn't like to see this annoying bug being there forever...

Re: File truncated when dragging from outlook?
Sure, but it's unlikely since I cannot reproduce the issue.

How can I help you to reproduce it? I want to make my life easier by getting rid of this issue...

Re: File truncated when dragging from outlook?
You cannot since I don't have Outlook 2010. Additionally it appears that you are the only one having this issue. This does not help in isolating it by logic. I have so much to do, I have to make priorities, sorry.

Re: File truncated when dragging from outlook?
On, wait a moment. I think I can fix the "Bad file name or number" error! So you get at least the copy and paste solution.
