I searched the forums for "slow" and found a lot but nothing that suggested a solution to what I'm seeing.
I'm moving XYP to 64bit Win7 (from 32bit WinXP, where it has always been fast).
Startup time for XYP is just fine. The only lag seems when I double-click a file to open/execute it (say, a .EXE, .PDF, etc.). Several (5 or so?) seconds elapse before the cursor changes to the blue-circle wait cursor.
Any suggestions for speeding this up?
I have real-time virus scanning turned OFF.

Well we can't really do much as of now since Don is still on vacation...
However, have you tried it with a new fresh install and see if the same issue still happen?

What when you press ENTER on the file?
What when you right-click the file and select open from the context menu?
