"Mouse Down Blow Up" related oddity?
On 5.20.19, just noticed something unusual...when I have thumbnails on, and left click once on the thumb, it takes a second or so as I see the hourglass and a flicker of outline where MDBU would show, but the actual blow-up doesn't appear unless I hold-down left mouse (as it should)...it's like it went into the MDBU generate routine, but then gave up...so...what should XY do on this single-click? Ignore it? Maybe, as delaying for no gain is not practical either.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Still had a copy of 5.20.00 so tried with that...same thing occurred...however, on some thumbs in another folder, it just flashed the "MDBU" image without hesitation...the ones that don't show were avg 1600x1200 sized...the ones that showed were 640x360 or so...may be related to size of image as to whether it flashes or not?

I suspect it's never shown up before since if I am in thumbnail mode I would normally be using MDBU. If I did select a file I would probably do it by clicking on the name.
However, there is an anomaly. Left click on a non-image "thumbnail" (icon of an HTML file for example) does select the file. Left click on an image thumbnail does nothing, other than a brief MDBU. Should the selection of non-image "thumbnails" be inhibited so that all selection has to be done by the filename when in thumbnail mode?

Ok, so at least someone else appears to see this flash MDBU..good! But why, on a large pix, does it take the time (1 sec+-) to do something and then quickly flash just the border/outline of the MDBU image?Gandolf wrote:Left click on an image thumbnail does nothing, other than a brief MDBU.
If it would be consistent and actually show/flash the MDBU -or- on all pix, just ignore the single left-click, or maybe convert it to a "select" as gandolf suggested for non-pix?

Large pics load longer -- it's a law of nature. I now did a little thing (not mentioned in history): if the mouse is not down anymore when the loading is done, then no image will be flashed. So your flicker on large images should be gone.j_c_hallgren wrote:Ok, so at least someone else appears to see this flash MDBU..good! Yeah.. but actually, the full screen mode (on right-click) never really worked on Thumbs View (picture wasn't resized if larger to fit the screen), so it's a chance to fix it for goodadmin wrote:Shit, a bug.surrender wrote:right-clicking on thumbnails brings up the context menu initially, clicking away from context menu brings up the blown-up image finally. i havent seen this happening before. previously, it used to simply blow up the thumbnail if i right clicked.

Ok...yes, the flash is gone, but the time to load/generate is still a 1 sec or so delay in case user clicked on wrong place.admin wrote:Large pics load longer -- it's a law of nature. I understand the obvious (that large pix take time), but as I'd suggested above, could the result MDBU flash as happens for small pix? Or, even better yet I think, convert a quick single click to a select for the file? That would cause no delay and still permit a held-down left mouse to leave select as/where is and show the MDBU image.

Good idea! I added a little delay before loading. Quick-click-selection is also a good idea...j_c_hallgren wrote:Ok...yes, the flash is gone, but the time to load/generate is still a 1 sec or so delay in case user clicked on wrong place.admin wrote:Large pics load longer -- it's a law of nature.
