Hello. I'm not someone who has a lot of money and all the money I do get, I spend it all on pre-ordering RPGs (I love RPGs a lot and always buy them) and other stuff related to my hobby. As a result, I have actually been using a magic version of XYplorer for a very long time (since around 2008). However, I have always loved the program and it's a program that I heavily used everyday. It was not until recently that I had a lot of pocket money (and already per-ordered all the RPGs I wanted) and instantly used the remaining money to buy a license before 2013. I now feel so happy to have an actual license to this wonderful program. It pretty much is the very first computer program I ever bought!
On to the program, this program is just simply wonderful. I have played around with xplorer2 for a while but I always end up back to XYplorer. The interface is much better and the thoughts and details that went into XYplorer is just way ahead of xplorer2. Once feature that I do use a lot is the color labeling system. So easy to use and so useful. I do miss the scrap container from xplorer2 but until Don ever think about implementing it, I will continue to use the labels to do batch actions on files (it does not compare to xplorer2 in this regard but it's flexible enough to be use this way which is awesome). There are also many other features that I use a lot such as copying selected files and folders to the clipboard, Thumbnails with Caching, , Mouse Down Blow Up, File Compare, Image Floating Previews, PFA, Mini Tree, Color Filters, Visual Filters, Jump To, Highlight, and more! I have not dealt with the scripting system much though but I might take a look into that more later. In many ways, XYplorer to file managers is like Notepad2-mod is to text editing. In Notepad2-mod, there are sooo many features that are not just useful but are also very carefully implemented such as prefix and suffix for each lines (or the selected lines), ability to sort, ability to batch convert tab keys to spaces, remove blank lines, remove trailing spaces, and etc. Due to the way I organize and use files, I always use XYplorer and Notepad2-mod. For example, I can copy all the torrent files I finish downloading in uTorrent, paste it into Notepad2-mod, batch append ".torrent" to the end of each line, select all text, and then use Ctrl+Shift+M in XYplorer and just paste in the text, and then voila! All the torrent files with the names in my torrent dumps are selected! So wonderful...
Maybe I should stop since if I continue to write, I'm going to make this already wall of text even longer!
I do have my concerns though. One good thing about Directory Opus (I think this is also a wonderful program but the problem with it is the price and it's complicated yet powerful unlike XYplorer's simplicity and powerful. Also it's not truly portable which is important to me.) and xplorer2 is that they are written in languages that are future proof. That's one thing that allowed those two to be compiled into 64Bit since the compilers are readily available. The fact that XYplorer is written in VB6 worries me since Microsoft pretty much no longer supports VB6 and now the dependency is completely on 3rd parties. I sure would love to have a program that is so well done by Don to exist far into the future and into the space age!
Anyway thank you very much!

Thank you, and don't worry about dependency. MS will never stop to support this (even if they say so). Too many apps are written in VB. And the only file needed to support it is about 1 MB size, LOL. The only dependency there is is Windows itself. If Windows dies then XY will die.

Ah I see! That makes me feel better than. It's just the 64Bit issue is probably the most "annoying" part due to context menu issues. Other than that, it's all good!
