:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Network Drive Log-on

Post by kcaudell »

I have a network drive that I've mapped as a local drive. When I access it from XY it takes FOREVER to log the contents. Once logged its OK, but, usually about 70 seconds or more to initially talk to the drive. Whats up?

The lengthy directory listing started occuring only since I've installed the lastest version.

OK, figured this one out. I turned on Get Folder Sizes. Ooops.

Another issue that I've had is logging onto a network drive if my computer was started before the server. XY won't recognize the drive. I have to start Microsoft Explorer :? and log onto the drive there, and then XY will recognize it. Hmmm.... I hate that program. It does, though, log onto directories MUCH faster.

Thanks for your help. I'm a real fan of your program. Thanks for the opportunity to make it better!!!!

I wonder if Get Folder Sizes should not be generally skipped on network drives... :?:

Select the drive in Tree and press Shift+F4 (Refresh current folder).
