Hi,
For a test, i deleted 3 files on my desktop, then with xyplorer i went to the recycler directory.
With the preview panel open, i clicked on the info file within that directory, then xyplorer hangs and i need to manually exit xyplorer. This is not a problem when the preview panel is closed (when the properties panel is activated for example).
Edit: this is also happening when i activate the raw view panel.
Greetings,
Steve

How big is your Info file?
I can get what appears to be a hang (hour glass) but it clears after a while as if XY is busy processing something. I haven't examined in detail to see what is happening but with a small info file (20 bytes) I don't see it, but a larger file (25,620) I do - but not always. This is with files deleted from a folder, not from the Desktop.
O.S. is XP

4 KB...
My info file is just 4KB. It's strange, somethimes it doesn't hang, i could even let it hang with just the properties panel activated and sometimes selected the other file, and then back the info file. But like you said, also here it seems XY is busy processing something.
I waited for 10 seconds or more, and then xyplorer is back in business... I can't reproduce it every time either now, but always selecting another file, within the recycler directory, and then back the info file a few times after eachoter brings back the hanging for 10-15 seconds or so.
Greetings,
Steve

I'm presuming, when term "recycler directory" is used, that it refers to "Recycled"?
And..at this point, I have a total of 197 items in my Recycled bin, and an INFO2 file of 153KB...
I can preview this INFO2 file with no delay what so ever, and bounce in/out of it and other files in Recycled at will...and have done so before...

Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!

Re: 4 KB...
You discovered a bug. And I fixed it:itsme28m wrote:I waited for 10 seconds or more, and then xyplorer is back in business... Code: Select all
! When hovering items in the Raw Recycle Bin (?:\RECYCLER\... resp.
?:\RECYCLED\... depending on the OS) and File Info Tips were active
then the app hung for some seconds before finally showing no tip.
Fixed: Now you get a tip with the message "No File Info Tips for
items in Recycle Bin."-

So fast?
Thanks for fixing it Donald, did you discover that bug a few days ago or are you really so fast for fixing it in the code and recompile it again?
I have tested a lot of software in the past, normally it takes weeks, mostly months and somethimes even more then a year to have something fixed, while you are able to fix bugs within thesame day
Anyway, keep up the great work!

He is really that fast... we've even seen him fix things seconds after it was reported! When it comes to bugs in XY, Don is like Lucky Luke!itsme28m wrote:Thanks for fixing it Donald, did you discover that bug a few days ago or are you really so fast for fixing it in the code and recompile it again?

Re: So fast?
Steve, welcome to the WARP speed at which XY bugs get fixed!itsme28m wrote:are you really so fast for fixing it in the code and recompile it again?
That's why I also was SO impressed with this product!
I've seen, on occasion, a beta vers show up within, it seemed, about an hour of bug being accurately described here on forum! Now some bugs are much more difficult to fix but I don't recall a serious bug ever taking more than 3-4 days to have a beta fix vers out...
Most bug fixs will get wrapped up in a beta vers that shows up VERY frequently...as adding new features is normally also part of each beta.
So spread the word to any friends you have, or on forums you frequent, about XY, as Don can use the income to support his XY coding habit!
