Switch to different catalog.dat files on the fly
To make XY even more portable maybe the catalog items could be saved into a separate ini file instead. Then you could easily switch between different catalog settings. If the ini format isn't appropriate maybe just make it possible to switch to different catalog.dat files on the fly.

Yes, a natural idea. I had also wilder ideas like the possibility to export and import catalog categories via file or clipboard. Then collegues at work could easily exchange project structures while keeping there private/personal part of the catalog intact!
But, uhm, a bit later, okay... my todo list gets a bit crowded recently...

He doesn't deserve some rest... he deserves alot of rest! I have tested alot of applications and giving tips how to change things, some developers need even years to change some things, but for Donald it is just a couple of days (when i check beta versions) mostly
. Xyplorer is one of the best shareware that i buyd.
