Forgive me if this has been properly addressed; I found several references to maximization in other posts, but their purpose was different and I didn't sense that it was definitively answered.
On my netbook, I run XYplorer maximized since there is limited screen real estate, and I've noticed that after maximizing the app, then closing it, it returns to it's non-maximized state at next startup, even if I specifically Save All Settings before closing.
Admin stated in a post here in Jan. 2012 that "this is not possible," but I'm wondering if this has been addressed. If not, I think I read that I can create a VB script to force it to launched maximized.

Re: Start maximized?
How do you start XYplorer? If by shortcut:
1. what is the exact command used?
2. does the shortcut specify a run window state (Normal window, etc.)?
In XYplorer, what is the setting for Configuration > Startup & Exit > Startup window state?

Re: Start maximized?
I'm using Win 7 Pro 64-bit, and I start XY via shortcut "pinned" to the taskbar. I cannot view properties of a pinned shortcut, so I checked the properties of the "proper" shortcut within the Start menu.
1. The exact shortcut used to launch XY is simply "C:\Program Files\XYplorer\XYplorer.exe". No command line switches or the like.
2. In the properties dialog, there is a Run menu with 3 options: Normal Window, Minimized, and Maximized. It was set to the default, Normal Window. This looked very promising, but after choosing Maximized and saving the changes, then launching via the proper Start menu shortcut (not the pinned version), XY still launched in non-maximized mode.
I should clarify that by non-maximized I mean that it launched in a normal window, at whatever dimensions I last used. Typically, this is most of the screen. But in the case of the netbook, I want it to be truly maximized (i.e. as if I had clicked the square icon button immediately to the left of the red X-close button in the far upper right of the application window).
In XY's startup configuration, I see three relevant options: Startup Minimized, Minimize to Tray, and Minimize to Tray on X Close. All three of these are unchecked.

By holding Shift while right-clicking, you can inspect the properties of a shortcut pinned to the taskbar. AFAICT taskbar shortcuts are distinct from the start menu-ones.costanza wrote:I'm using Win 7 Pro 64-bit, and I start XY via shortcut "pinned" to the taskbar. Useful to exclude that if the taskbar shortcut shows the same.costanza wrote:1. The exact shortcut used to launch XY is simply "C:\Program Files\XYplorer\XYplorer.exe". No command line switches or the like.

You don't see the option I mentioned? If you're not running 11.70.0000 or later, could you try either the latest release version or else the latest beta?costanza wrote:In XY's startup configuration, I see three relevant options: Startup Minimized, Minimize to Tray, and Minimize to Tray on X Close. Also, could you try with a clean profile as described here?

Re: Start maximized?
Doh, I'm a doofus. I'm usually pretty quick to install new versions of XY, but I fell behind this time. Was running 11.40. I see the new startup option in 11.70, and it works perfectly. Lovely maximized XY on my little netbook screen.
Thanks so much for your help, and my apologies for not being better prepared.
