:info: Please include the following information:
1) Your XYplorer Version (e.g., v28.00.0801)
2) Your Windows Version (e.g., Win 11)
3) Your Screen Scaling Percentage (e.g., 125%).

:info: We strongly recommend adding your Windows Version and Screen Scaling Percentage to the Location field in your Profile or to your Signature. That way, you only have to type them once, and we won't have to search for that vital information.

Can't view Acronis TIB archives

Post by Pauleduc »

I use Acronis True Image backup, and it creates archives with the TIB file extension.

Normally, if I want to view and/or restore a file from the TIB archive, it is just a matter of double-clicking on the TIB file and it opens the archive file in Win Explorer.

When I use XYplorer, I can navigate the backup drive right up to the point where I find the TIB file, but then clicking on it, opens Win Explorer, instead of using XYplorer. Even if I use 'open with' and set the program to XYplorer, it does not open in XP - actually, it does nothing at all.. not even opening in Win Explorer any more.

Wish: Please add support for Acronis TIB archives. Thanks!
Paul

I don't run Acronis myself, but at a guess Acronis may be using something called a shell namespace for TIB preview. If so, there's a problem in that XYplorer doesn't yet support shell namespaces. It's listed as Support for Non-Drive Devices on the roadmap.
