I had a sort of rotation problem as well. Maybe won't help (for me it did), but try this:
1. Switch Superfast Thumbnails OFF
2. Clear thumbnail cache
3. Enter the folder again and check the rotation
Thumbnail rotation incorrect

Re: Thumbnail rotation incorrect
Tip: You can always refresh the cache of individual thumbnails via the right-click menu of the Thumbnails Views toolbar button.

Re: Thumbnail rotation incorrect
OK interesting, here's what I've just discovered. I sent you the photos extracted from the zip file I uploaded so they weren't the actual 'originals' as such. But they aren't exhibiting the same behaviour as the originals - they are rotated correctly and aren't 'pixelated'. Same thing if I just copy and paste the original - it's fine. In fact moving the original to another folder solves the problem (but if I move the file back to it's original folder it look weird again). Could it be something to do with the cached thumbnails? Although, I did clear XY's cache and it made no difference.

Don, do you remember of my private mail on 15th Jun? Now I am almost sure there is a hard-to-catch problem with thumbnail rotation when superfast thumbnails is on. It can't be a coincidence.
