Now I'm converted

Post by jadinolf »

Just bought a Home license last night after using every day of the FREE trial.

I was a loyal PowerDesk user but it seemed to get worse and worse and worse as the versions got higher in number. I started with version one which came on one floppy and cost $55 and went all the way to 8.5 which was totally unusable.

XYplorer is great and a much better program and a much better buy.

Don't know if this post belongs here but I had to brag. :)

Thanks

@jadinolf: Actually, if you are so happy with XY, why don't talk about it in a larger forum, on a bigger stage:
http://download.cnet.com/XYplorer/3000- ... userreview

Currently there are too many junk reviews on that page. For the sake of international fairness and universal harmony, some positive words will do good!

Thanks from the maker,
Don

PS: Same is true for this page: http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/XY ... 11575143/1

Don, I do talk it up a lot on the forums that I visit but I'll follow your links and do it.

Thanks

And if you can, within actual review, also rebut or counter some of the negative points in prior reviews, that helps more than comments on a prior one as some don't read those.
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

Well, if they are obvious junk or hate or competitive "reviews" they should better be ignored. I rather have a plain report of someone happily using the app for his daily work, than a debate on certain features or general greatness. Rather "It's great for me because..." than "It's the best file manager because...".

And you should see PowerDesk getting badmouthed.

I have used it from the first version and I could kick myself for the stupidity. Not only because of the waste of money but for the waste of time trying to undo the problems it caused. :(

I'm going to write some positive words too.

We all know that XYplorer still needs some important improvements, but Don is already going to improve it every day (unfortunately not everything ).
