Hi,
This issue isn't about XYplorer, but I would appreciate users help about a tip of any app that is able to provide zipping with encryption.
Actually, I tried Winzip, but its encryption is attached to each file zipped. Then, it is possible to open the zip file and see the name of files (which won't open of course). But I don't want even to be able of seeing the file names. I would like the zip file behavior like a container, in order of asking for a password before provide access to files inside.
Any suggestion of app?
Thanks!

PKZIP's website claims it has the ability to encrypt file names; unfortunately, it's not freeware.

I may have missed it but having tried 9.25 alpha, only its native format (.7z) seemed to offer the ability to encrypt filenames?Filehero wrote:7-zip.

AFAICT WinRAR also doesn't support creating .ZIP files (as opposed to its native .RAR format) with filenames encrypted?Marco wrote:Winrar, however not free.

My fault in reading your top message. Are you looking for a software writing zip archives whose files inside have encrypted names?nas8e9 wrote: AFAICT WinRAR also doesn't support creating .ZIP files (as opposed to its native .RAR format) with filenames encrypted?

Re: Zipping with encryption. Any suggestion of app?
Thanks everybody for tips.
After some trials, I am liking PKZIP process, since "one click" and all is zipped encrypted (AES), including file names. Besides, I asked for support help and in less than 12 hours I was replied with very comprehensive content. I appreciate that from software companies!
The problem with Winzip is that the files are encrypted, but anyone still seeing inside .zip. To obtain a "full" encryption with Winzip it is necessary to zip all first, and then make a encrypted zip from the first zip file. With PKZIP, as I mentioned "one click" plus password key.
Does 7zip work similar than PKZIP?

I'm not sure what you mean: assuming you specifically want encrypted .ZIP-files instead of any other format, 7-Zip only offers encrypted file names for its own .7z-format, but not for .ZIP-files?cadu wrote:Does 7zip work similar than PKZIP?
